The Rookie is an American police procedural television series created by Alexi Hawley for American Broadcast Company(ABC) that released the first episode of its first season on October 18, 2018.
The series is produced by ABC Studios and Entertainment One and it is based on real-life Los Angeles Police Department officer William Norcross, who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the department in his mid-40s.
What is “The Rookie” about?
The show follows John Nolan(Nathan Fillion), a forty-five-year-old newly divorced man from Pennsylvania, a former owner of a construction company, and a father of a college student, who moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the Los Angeles Police Department after inadvertently helping police officers during a bank robbery and is determined to navigate through the dangerous, unpredictable nature of his new job as the oldest rookie Police Officer of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

Season three of “The Rookie” premiered on Sunday, 3 January 2021 at 10 p.m with an expected set of 20 episodes.
The series will pick up from the major cliffhanger from the previous season and it is said that the majority of the cast will return for the third season.
