You is an American psychological thriller television series that Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble developed. Warner Horizon Television, in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios, produced this show. The first season is based on the 2014 novel which Caroline Kepnes wrote. The first season of the series follows Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck and quickly develops an extreme, toxic, and delusional obsession.

The series premiered on Lifetime on September 9, 2018, in the United States and streaming on Netflix internationally on December 26, 2018. The series received critical success for Netflix, with over 43 million viewers having streamed the first season after its debut on the streaming service.

In the second season, Joe Goldberg moves from New York to Los Angeles to escape his past, and starts over with a new identity. • Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, a former bookstore manager at Mooney’s who stalks and dates Beck in the first season. In the second season, he goes by the name Will Bettelheim and dates Love and works as a bookstore clerk at Anavrin. Joe is portrayed as a teenager by Gianni Ciardiello in season one, and as a child by Aidan Wallace and Jack Fisher in season two and season three respectively.
• Elizabeth Lail as Guinevere Beck, a broke NYU graduate student and an aspiring writer.
• Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn, an aspiring chef and health guru in Los Angeles
