2. Yellowjackets (Showtime)

Yellowjackets is an American psychological horror thriller created by Bart Nickerson and Ashley Lyle. The drama is about a ’90s high school girl’s soccer team that becomes stranded in the wilderness after their plane crashes.

The second season sees a tense reunion at adult Lottie’s retreat, chilling flashbacks to a winter of snowy hunger, and new stars Lauren Ambrose and Elijah Wood joining the cast.

This horror-soaked drama has been renewed for season 3.

3. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (Netflix)

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is based on the real-life marriage of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and George III of Britain.

Created by Shonda Rhimes, this story of ages revolves around romance, power, racial diversity, and mental illness. India Amartfeifo and Corey Mylchreest star as the royal couple.

Every theme is infused into fast-paced frothy dramas without falling into glibness, and you can’t miss the mix of substance and fun the Bridgerton Story has to offer.

4. The Last of Us (Max)

Based on a video game of the same name, The Last of Us is set in a post-apocalyptic world. The star, Pedro Pascal (Joel) is trying to survive after a global pandemic destroys civilization when he’s recruited to transport Bella Ramsey (Ellie) to safety.

Joel and Ellie have to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killer zombies as they seek safety in now-dangerous America. The show contains a mixture of soul-destroying moments, scenes of levity, and hard choices—choosing between people we love and humanity.

5. Succession (HBO)

Created by Jesse Amstrong, Succession follows an aging patriarch Logan Roy who heads a media empire and how the family battles to succeed him.

Logan has been at the helm for a longer time and has a succession plan well laid out. However, the family members want to run the media conglomerate as they deem fit.

Kendall Roy (Logan’s eldest son), a division president at the media company and the heir apparent, attempts to solidify his eventual takeover. Together with three other children of Logan, they get it rough as company control and family loyalties collide.

You can’t afford to miss the grief, anger, painful blowout arguments, and betrayals that take center stage from seasons 1-4.

6. Shrinking (Apple TV+)

Grief can be a real asshole, right? And Shrinking captures it accurately and hilariously. Jason Segel (Jimmy) plays a therapist who has been deeply hurt after losing his wife.

In the complex process of grief, Jimmy tries to move on to heal his hurting soul, teen daughter, and patients. He urges his patients to break rules, take up boxing, and go hard to get out of their comfort zones.

Luke Tennie (Jimmy’s new volatile and vulnerable patient), Christa Miller (his nosy but generous next-door neighbor), Harrison Ford (Jimmy’s mentor), and Jessica Williams (his colleague) make this mental crisis show more strange.

7. The Afterparty (Apple TV+)

Created by Christoper Miller, The Afterparty is an American murder mystery TV series comedy with an approval rating of 90% on the review aggregator site—Rotten Tomatoes.

It follows a murder scene that happens at a high school reunion party. The attendees remember the events of that fateful night differently as the murderer remains at large.

The former classmates get grilled one after the other by a detective in a quest to establish the motive and truth behind the murder.

8. The Night Agent (Netflix)

A mole at the White House? Yes. The Night Agent series follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent who discovers there’s a traitor in the U.S. government.

Gabriel Basso is deployed to man a phone that never rings. But one night, the phone rings and Gabriel answers, plunging him into a deadly conspiracy that leads to the Oval Office.

Gabriel gets into a journey to save his country and protect a young cybersecurity CEO who’s a prime target of the agents that murdered her aunt and uncle.
