Why did Anna Kendrick say NO to Nudity?

The dynamics of the present movies and series changed with the new advancement of technology, music, animation, cinematography, storyline, ideologies, and even portrayal of déshabillé. Actors and actresses are agreeing to more nude scenes and nodding to intimate parts. But Love Life’s star Anna Kendrick had a different thing in mind, and believed that a movie/series can also be made without anyone being naked.

The American rom-com series Love Life, created by Sam Boyd was premiered on the HBO Max streaming service for its launch on May 27, 2020. The story revolves around the protagonist, Darby, who explores the world of romantic relationships. Each episode centers around a different relationship in her life; the one-night stand gone wrong, a promising romance that didn’t last, even her overbearing mother gets a chapter of the story. The show will make one feel unexpected emotions, digging up the old feelings, and will make one say “oh! That happened with me”. It manages to stay fresh by feeling timeless, this making it more relatable. It is said to be the 2020 version of Sex and the City.

In one interview, she says,

My personal feelings on nudity – that I’m not really interested in nudity for me – stayed the same. I’ve never had a problem with simulated sex scenes – that feels like it’s about the character, whereas I only get one body, so nudity is more about me.

Not only the experts, but the amateur actors agree to do nude scenes or just taking off their clothes in front of the cameras. Almost every movie has at least one nude or strong sensuous scene. Such does much of the percentage of the motion pictures. Kendrick proved that one can make a film successful with it’s acting and looking after the other aspects of the technicalities. Also, with so many new, varied stories coming up, it won’t be much of a surprise if one eliminates nudity.
