Emmy Award winner Philipp Kadelbach, head writer Annette Hess, Sophie von Uslar, and fellow producer Oliver Berben, “We Children From Bahnhof Zoo” is a German coming of age series that follows Christiane F. and her dysfunctional friends, who as teenagers descend into the gritty drug scene of 1970s West Berlin and made its debut on February 19, 2021, in Germany.

Six teenagers fight for their dream of happiness and freedom, leaving behind all the problems with parents, teachers, and others. Christiane, Stella, Babsi, Benno, Axel, and Michi throw themselves into the heady nights of Berlin, without limits or rules, and celebrate life, love, and temptation – until they have to realize that this rush will not only destroy their friendship but can drive them into the abyss.

The original book, “Zoo Station: The Story of Christiane F.,” based on interviews with a then 15-year old former teen drug addict and prostitute Christiane F., shattered cozy illusions of a post-WWII world that protected its children. It proved Germany’s biggest non-fiction bestseller since WWII and was published in 20 languages.
