Alex Kinter, the Award-Winning Director of Short Film “Poolside” and a Successful Forex Trader

Alex Kinter’s life has always been surrounded by cameras and films. And just like any normal kid, his curiosity peaked when he wasn’t allowed to play with the film instruments. Needless to say, his creativity too accelerated over time. Yes, that’s how Alex Kinter is an award-winning director of the famous short film “Poolside”. The Latino director, producer, and cinematographer never stopped seeing dreams. Hailing from Texas, he was a photographer for over a decade.

Alex Kinter’s journey started by seeing his uncle who was into commercial and documentary film production. Famous photographer Tyler Shield’s style of work also intrigued him and that’s when he decided to purchase his first DSLR camera and get into movie-making. After graduation from A&M University-Commerce for Art Direction & Photography and RED Digital Cinema Education back in 2012, Alex Kinter started working on host shows. The list ranges from The Drew Pearson Show, Sports Plus to Inside Entertainment, alongside Paul Salfen.

Alex Kinter also tried his hands-on publishing and worked in companies like Envy Magazine, 944 Magazine, and ScoreBoard Monthly. He established a media production business after gaining sufficiently commercial, advertisement, and manufacturing expertise in the Dallas market.

Alex Kinter went on to establish a prominent reputation as a commercial director, having collaborated with brands such as AT&T, Dallas Cowboys, Hublot, Pernot Ricard, Marriott Courtyard, Sonic, MTV, Viacom, and Mercedes Benz. His media business has rapidly grown as a result of this young man’s unique and exceptional abilities. He has also dabbled in filmmaking with a number of collaborators.

Coming to his recently awarded short film, “Poolside”. The creative process was tightly scheduled but with fun sessions. He would meet the scriptwriter Eric and discuss the story over and over again while doing gobbling up lunch. Critics admitted that they were in awe of the cinematography. Alex Kinter thanked Food Dance Films, The Electric Light and Power Company, and 4:4:4 camera, for their best equipment support and for helping produce the project.

The short film was released this January and is available on YouTube. He even started trading forex, crypto, stocks, and indices so that he could collect funds for his films. Recently, he also has his eyes on  NFTs and has been looking at collecting some as well.

“Poolside” chronicles the eerie moments of a 1950s high-class lady trying to maintain her equilibrium while alone at her indoor swimming pool. Swimming through this candid unraveling of a woman alone, struggling to grasp the sounds she experiences underwater, the utopian context serves as a marked contradiction to the bleak ideas. Consciousness, addiction, deprivation, and anxiety are only a couple of the feelings she is dealing with as she tries to come to grips with her overwhelming condition.

“Poolside” won the following awards, Best Indie Film Award, Andromeda Film Festival, Florence Film Awards, Independent Shorts Awards, and many more.

Alex Kinter is the film director that the future needs. We are already dealing with lousy scripts, poorly written songs, and vague acting, all for attracting the commercial audience. But when it comes to films and art, we got to see the artistic side. There are many hidden gems, but they hardly get any recognition. So, it is time we pay respect to their long-hour works and appreciate the deep philosophies of life.
