Instead of focusing on Dev’s character, the writers have chosen to depict the life of Denise, Dev’s friend. Denise is a lesbian who will be seen in this series having a romantic relationship with Alicia. The creators’ goal is to portray a modern love story that depicts the insecurities and instabilities of marriage as well as fertility disputes. This article aims to provide a brief overview of the lesbian community’s life and the difficulties they face in society and on a personal level.
