Developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly, Ted Lasso is a sports comedy-drama series. It is based on a character of the same nae played by Sudeikis in a series of promos for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.

The first season of the show premiered on August 14, 2020 on Apple TV+. It was followed by a second season on July 23, 2021. The series has received positive reviews from critics and currently holds an approval rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has been renewed for a third season which would premiere soon on the streaming platform.

Ted Lasso Plot and Cast

The ending of Ted Lasso Season 2 saw the AFC Richmond team returning to the Premier League but having a lot of personal issues. A furious Nate is feeling underappreciated, rowing with Ted and defecting to West Ham, the club is now owned by Rebecca’s d-bag ex-husband Rupert.

Nate went as far as to tear Ted’s iconic Believe banner, which was shocking to Mohammad as well as the audience. The character might be redeemed and whatever happens, he will be competing against his former team, who are not left in the greatest shape themselves.

Rebecca is torn after a fling with young player Sam who turned down an opportunity at another club to remain with AFC Richmond. Keeley and Sam seem to be on the verge of splitting and the former footballer worrying that his business-mogul girlfriends is going to tire of him and move on.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple and Sarah Niles in the lead roles.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date

Even though Season 2 released in 2021, Ted Lasso was renewed for a third season in October 2020, which is prior to the release of second season. For now, we can expect the new season to release sometime towards the end of 2022.

The upcoming season should consist of 10 to 12 episodes like the previous seasons. However, the makers are yet to reveal the additional information related to the casting and release date.
