Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin: Release Date, Cast and more!

Developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is an upcoming American teen drama mystery-thriller television series. It is the fourth television series in the Pretty Little Liars franchise and the first to be carried on streaming television service.

On September 2, 2020, it was announced that a new Pretty Little Liars series was in development at Warner Bros. On September 24, 2020, HBO Max gave the series a direct-to-series order of 10-episodes and was named Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. The show is produced by Muckle Man Productions, Alloy Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Plot and Cast

HBO Max described the PLL reboot in its initial statement –

“Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own.”

More details about the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin plot were revealed to Entertainment Weekly on March 8, 2022. The publication also released first-look photos of the cast looking varying degrees of stunned, which are available to view on EW’s website. According to Aguirre-Sacasa, the series will be much darker than its predecessor, though it’ll still focus on friendship and how a series of terrifying, anonymous text messages can affect it.

The main cast includes Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Bailee Madison, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Alex Aiono, Mallory Bechtel, and Eric Johnson. We will also get to see Carson Rowland, Jordan Gonzalez, Ben Cook, Elias Kacavas, Benton Greene, Lea Salonga, Sharon Leal and others in recurring roles.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Release Date

Production on the series began in August 2021, and the series finished filming in Upstate New York on April 27, 2022. A few days before wrapping, local news outlets reported that parts of the season finale were being shot on location in Hudson, New York.

Though no official release date has been announced yet, fans can expect the series to drop this summer of 2022. Further details about the show will be disclosed soon by the makers.
