While the game was planned to be released in 2023, it is finally scheduled to be out in 2024.

Although the developers of The Plucky Squire have not announced anything from their side officially, the gameplay trailer is enough to know a lot about the game. The official Steam page of the game states that the premise will be about a character called Jot and his friends.
The entire group’s adventures will be an important part of the game and things would get more thrilling when they will find a 3D world. The main villain is Humpgrump who will be featured in the storybook and when he realizes about his fate, he removes Jot from the storybook, bringing changes to the story.
Jot will be confronting challenges that he has never faced in the past. His task will be to prevent his friends from being attacked by the dark forces. Gamers would get a chance to switch between 2D and 3D and the activities would include puzzle solving, boxing badgers, flying in a jetpack and a lot of other mini challenges.
