Developed by ILCA and Inc., Sand Land is an action RPG video game which is published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. Created by Akira Toriyama, a manga artist of major renowned for his Dragonball series as well as his contributions to many games such as Dragon Quest, Sand Land remained a print-only phenomenon until 2023.

It was featured in a manga magazine called Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2000 and then accumulated in a volume in November 2000. It was again serialized by Viz Media in another magazine in North America in 2003. It was eventually released as a graphic novel the same year.

Sand Land Gameplay

Sand Land is going to be a faithful adaptation of the manga series of the same name. A lot of details about the gameplay have not been revealed but the trailer has hinted towards a few things. So for now, gamers can expect that are going to experience a lot of thrill inside the game as they start playing it.

The second episode of the Dev Diaries came out in November 2023 and it emphasized the dungeons and sub-quests that would be an important part of the game. Players would get a chance to explore the unique world inside the game and there would be a lot of ruins alongside populated towns, abandoned military bases, and a lot of other things.

The basic premise of the game, as described on the official website, states that the game would be set 50 years before the hubris of humankind combined with natural disasters and it changed the world into a desert. The main character of the game would be Fiend Prince Beelzebub and he would be joined by a demon Thief alongside human sheriff Rao. The trio would go on a mission to find the Legendary Spring to bring back water to the Sand Land.

Sand Land Release Date

An anime adaptation which has been co-produced by Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima came out in August 2023 and an original animated show will be released via Disney+ and Hulu in 2024. The developers have confirmed that the game will be released on April 26, 2024, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
