Archer Season 12 : Release Date, Cast and more!

The very popular adult animated sitcom ‘Archer’ opened to positive reviews from critics in the last 11 seasons. Critics have mainly praised the work of all the voice actors. Archer also has been a recipient of three Primetime Emmy Awards and four Critics Choice Awards. Well, we all are aware of the fact that creator Adam Reed announced in 2016 that the series will not continue after the 10th season. But to everyone’s surprise, the 11th season aired in 2020. Now, Variety reported in October 2020 that the series has been renewed for a 12th season because the 11th season saw a 32% increase in viewership.

For now, it is very difficult to predict what can we expect in the upcoming season. For instance, Season 5 is termed as Archer Vice because the cast was transformed into drug dealers from secret agents. The recent three seasons showed a lead character in a coma and every season shifted from different eras and settings that unfolded in his mind.

Release Date of Archer Season 12

Variety has specified that Archer Season 12 might release sometime in 2021 on FXX and FX on Hulu. Well, a particular date has not been mentioned on which we can expect the new episode but the best guess for now is that the new season will premiere sometime in the fall. Usually, the time of release between all the seasons of Archer has been one year and the next season made its debut either during or close to the same month as the previous season. Season 11 was released in September 2020 and fans have been expecting Season 12 in August or October 2021.

At present, the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic is still not under control and so, we cannot be 100% sure about everything. The duration of release between the 10th and 11th season was one year. Season 10 made its debut in the end of May 2019 and the Season 11 was delayed to September 2020 because of the pandemic.

Cast of Archer Season 12

We can say one thing for sure that all the regular cast members will return for Season 12. We can expect the return of Jessica Walter as Mallory Archer, Judy Greer as Cheryl, and Aisha Tyler as Sterling’s on-again/off-again Lana. Simon Pegg’s character Aleister didn’t survive in Season 11. Stephen Toblowsky might return as Lana’s oversharing billionaire husband Robert. We can also expect the return of Dave Willis as the cyborg.

Plot of Archer Season 12

Nothing can be said for sure about the plot of Archer Season 12. The show will definitely not make its normal moves like putting the whole cast in outer space for one season or turn all of them into drug runners. There was a reason why the 11th season was able to see an increase in its viewership. Archer woke up from his coma and went back to the spy game. This was the reason why the 11th season was highly successful. For Season 12, we can expect Sterling to confront a few of the personal demons that hound him.

The world where Archer wakes up in Season 11 is different compared to the ones he visits in his coma. Lana is now married, his daughter doesn’t care anymore about him and Cyril seems like he can bench press Archer and two others like him. Archer needs to stop searching for things like alcohol and food for distraction and find a way to adjust himself in this new world.
