Chicago Med Season 8: Release Date, Cast and more!

Created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, Chicago Med is an American medical drama television series. It is the third installment of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise. Wolf and Olmstead have also served as executive producers of the show alongside Diane Frolov, Andrew Schneider, Michael Waxman, Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Danielle Gelber, Arthur W. Forney, and Peter Jankowski.

The series premiered on NBC on November 17, 2015. On February 27, 2020, NBC renewed the series for a sixth, seventh, and eighth season. The sixth season premiered on November 11, 2020. The seventh season premiered on September 22, 2021. The eighth season is set to premiere soon.

Chicago Med Season 8 Plot and Cast

While there isn’t an official synopsis for Chicago Med season 8 yet, here’s NBC’s description of the show:
“Chicago Med is the third installment of the One Chicago franchise and tracks the lives of doctors and nurses working in the E.R. of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

Often intermingling with characters from Chicago P.D. and Fire, you never know which familiar face might walk into the emergency room. Life is rarely boring for Chicago physicians and One Chicago fans have become enamored with the personal lives of the Chicago Med doctors and residents.

“Boasting powerhouse performances from supervising attending physician Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and nurse Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), the characters of the NBC series have fans hooked. Life is never predictable for the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center staff, with every episode bringing a unique set of challenges for the characters. For a city that’s never short of emergencies, Chicago Med fans are eager for the series to return to NBC this fall.”

Those already confirmed to be returning for season 8 are Marlyne Barrett (Maggie Lockwood), S. Epatha Merkerson (Sharon Goodwin), Oliver Platt (Daniel Charles), Nick Gehlfuss (Will Halstead), and Brian Tee (Ethan Choi).
We’re also expecting the returns of Dominic Rains (Crockett Marcel), Steven Weber (Dean Archer), Asjha Cooper (Vanessa Taylor), Guy Lockard (Dylan Scott), and Jessy Schram (Hannah Asher) as well as recurring players Sarah Rafferty (Pamela Blake), Johanna Braddy (Avery Quinn), Michael Rady (Matt Cooper) and Johnny M. Wuas (Randall Shentu).

Chicago Med Season 8 Release Date

Chicago Med season 8 will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8/7c on NBC. That same night, NBC will roll out the new seasons of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD with Med once again airing in the night’s opening hour.

We are not sure about the episode numbers since the previous season has a different number of episodes. It will be might in between 16-23, as per from the previous records.
