Cowboy Bebop is an upcoming live-action, science fiction television series. It is a remake of the 1998 Japanese anime of the same name. Set in the year 2071, it tells the story of a motley crew of bounty hunters who chase down criminals across the galaxy on a spaceship named Bebop. While the original anime was written by Keiko Nobumoto, this one will be written by Christopher Yost. It is a show set in space and therefore entails a lot of futuristic fun.
Cowboy Bebop: Plot and Cast
As per the original anime series, Cowboy Bebop follows the story of a bounty hunter born on Mars. He also has a history of violent gang activity. He along with Jet Black, Faye Valentine, and the hacker Radical Edward board the intergalactic spaceship Bebop, and we follow them on their adventures. The world is very rich and well made with various small details with a neo-noir feel to it. Thus it is will be very fun to watch. They will also face off with Spike’s rival named Vicious, a greedy and illegal gangster. He will pose a major threat. We will also perhaps see the characters grapple with ghosts from their past.
Regarding the cast of the show, John Cho has been confirmed to appear as Spike Spiegel, with Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine. Besides that, we will also see Alex Hassell as Vicious and Elaine Satine in the role of Julia.
Cowboy Bebop: Release Date and Trailer
Cowboy Bebop had originally planned to be released in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused a year’s delay. Now, Netflix has confirmed that the show will arrive on the streaming platform on November 19th, 2021. It debuts one week before Thanksgiving. Therefore, fans can binge-watch it over the holidays.
