Deep Down: Gameplay, Release Date, and Trailer!

Developed and published by Capcom, Deep Down is an action role-playing video game that was announced for PlayStation 4 in 2013, but entered development hell and, despite being near completion, was not released. The game remains under development but it has not been canceled yet. It is going to have science fantasy elements and a multiplayer mode has also been added. The game is set in New York City in the future and players can travel back in time by touching some magical artifacts.

The game starts in the year 2094 and the main plot focuses on a group member called Ravens who can recover historical memories by touching any object. The Raven develops contact with excavated objects from a civilization in Bohemia from the 15th century and can use their abilities to travel through the city and find the hidden secrets at the same time.

Deep Down Gameplay

Deep Down will feature both single player and multiplayer mode for the convenience of the gamers. Gamers can add around four players in the multiplayer mode and the game is said to be same like the Dragon’s Dogma and the historical portion of the game is set in a medieval or fantasy setting in dungeons that are generated procedurally and the players appear in different suits of armor, possessing swords, pikes, shields, and more. Creatures that are mostly found here belong to fantasy trope like orges and shapeshifters and it is almost same like the mimics and dragons.

Deep Down Release Date

During a PlayStation Meeting back in 2013, Yoshinori Ono of Capcom said that Deep Down and the new Panta Rhei game engine has been designed mainly for PlayStation 4. The game’s working title was revealed to be Deep Down and Panta Rhei was confirmed to replace MT Framework as the game engine. The reveal trailer then featured an armored warrior who was fighting a fire-breathing dragon from the medieval period. The developers decided to make a brand for freedom and explore a new generation video game console architecture.

They were also planning to avoid the expectations of the gamers. Capcom producer later confirmed that the game will be available for free play and it was supposed to come out by 2014. However, to bring a better vision, the game was delayed once again. In another interview, Ono said that the game won’t be canceled at all despite that it has been under development for a long time.
