Breaking Bad fans were eagerly waiting for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie when it rolled out in October 2019. The film showed Aaron Paul reprising his role from Breaking Bad as Jesse Pinkman. Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad, had written, directed, and produced El Camino. The movie had won Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Movie Made for Television and Satellite Award for Best Television Film.
El Camino gave Jesse Pinkman’s story a deserving end. As delightful a watch the movie was, this spin-off leaves die-hard Breaking Bad fans with more hope than they anticipated. Will there be El Camino 2 or more of such Breaking Bad movies in the future?
What did Gilligan say about El Camino 2?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gilligan shared his plans of creating another after the Breaking Bad prequel spin-off show ‘Better Call Saul’ ends. But from the way he talked, it felt that he is planning to create an entirely new show. He dropped no hint towards having another project related to the Breaking Bad universe.
“Personally, I’d love to figure out something different, which at this point would be, God, not another antihero,” Vince Gilligan told The Hollywood Reporter, “Is there something else I can do? Is there another story I can tell? But I’ve got to tell you, it’s harder to write a really engaging good guy than it is a really engaging bad guy.”
Did El Camino have any cliffhangers?
Jesse had a difficult rollercoaster ride towards his final freedom in El Camino. Despite all the odds and mishaps, he managed to gather enough money to pay for an alternate identity. In end, he lives in Alaska under the alias of Mr. Driscoll. Many other Breaking Bad characters returned to screen for El Camino. Did all of them have a justified ending in El Camino? Can Jesse have some new trouble walking towards him in Alaska? These questions lay the hopes of fans for another Breaking Bad movie.
