Developed by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan for Amazon Prime Video, Fallout is an upcoming post-apocalyptic television series. The series is based on the role-playing video game franchise of the same name created by Interplay Entertainment and owned by Bethesda Softworks.
Joy and Nolan are also the executive producer of the series alongside Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Graham Wagner, Athena Wickhman, James Altman, and Todd Howard. The series depicts the aftermath of a nuclear war in 2077 that destroys the idyllic future that was envisioned in the 1950s.
So, when is the new show releasing? Who would play the lead roles? What will be the storyline? Continue reading to know more details.
Fallout Plot and Cast

Since a script hasn’t even been written yet, there’s not much to speculate about when it comes to the Fallout show’s plot. The first look at the Fallout TV series suggests it will be in the Fallout 3 timeframe, due to the appearance of the Super Duper Mart.
However, in its announcement, Bethesda revealed, “The series takes place in a harsh wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy. It is serious in tone, yet sprinkled with moments of ironic humor and B-movie-nuclear-fantasies.”
Westworld has some moments of ironic humor, as well — think of the bumbling techs that Thandie Newton’s Maeve so easily manipulates. Fallout may feel similar to those parts of Westworld.
Walton Goggins (Justified, The Righteous Gemstones), is starring as a to-be-named ghoul. Ella Purnell of Yellowjackets will be the series lead, while Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Netflix’s Havoc), and Aaron Moten (Mozart in the Jungle) fill out the rest of the cast.
Fallout Release Date

The makers have not announced an official release date for Fallout yet. The project is in its earliest stages since Amazon only just acquired the rights and attached Nolan and Joy’s Kilter Films production banner.
Filming for the series began on July 5, 2022, with production taking place between New Jersey, New York, and Utah. The series was produced by Amazon Studios, Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, and Kilter Films.
