Created by Ryan J. Condal and George R. R. Martin, House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series. The show’s executive producers are Ryan J. Condal, George R. R. Martin, Miguel Sapochnik, Vince Gerardis, Sara Lee Hess, and Ron Schmidt.

House of the Dragon received a straight-to-series order in October 2019 with casting beginning in July 2020 and principal photography beginning in April 2021 in the United Kingdom. The series is scheduled to premiere on August 21, 2022. Its first season will consist of ten episodes. Another season has been already announced.

House of the Dragon Plot and Cast

The developers have not revealed much about the plot of House of the Dragon Season 2. However, in a few recent interviews, they have hinted at many things about the plot for Season 2.

House of the Dragon will follow the Dance of the Dragons, a Targaryen civil war in Westeros and referenced in Fire and Blood and The World of Ice and Fire. This particular battle of succession is also explored in two novellas, The Princess and the Queen and The Rogue Prince.

Coming to the cast, we should expect to see the leads of Season 1 in Season 2. This includes Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Milly Alcock, Olivia Cooke, Emily Carey, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, and more.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Release Date

The show’s first season is confirmed to premiere on August 21, 2022. Although the makers have not officially renewed it, we can expect to see the second season by 2023.
