Based on Helen, who entrusted with a task to restore public faith in superheroes, sets off on a mission. The mission being catching a supervillain, while Bob faces the challenges of stay-at-home parenting. Directed by Brad Bird, Incredibles 2 won awards like Blimp Award for Favorite Animated Movie (2019), NAACP Image Award (2019). In 2018, it won awards like the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie of the Summer and People’s Choice Award.
It was one of the last remaining Disney movies. But now, it is all set to leave Netflix in July 2020. This is because the entire library of titles added between 2016 and 2018 is slowly getting removed from the service.
Let’s look at why Incredibles 2 came to Netflix and why it’s now leaving.
Why Incredibles 2 came to Netflix?
Netflix had struck a deal that saw all-new Disney theatrical movie releases in cinemas between 2016 and 2018 arrive on Netflix in the first window. Huge titles such as Zootopia, Finding Dory, Moana as well as Marvel and Star Wars titles were seen to hit Netflix.
Sequel to the 2006 Pixar movie, Incredibles 2 was another solid entry in the franchise and released in the theaters in June 2018. Subsequently, it hit on Netflix on January 30th, 2019. Now, exactly a year and a half later, it’s due to leave Netflix.
Why it’s Leaving now?
Disney opted for a different tact in recent years. It preferred to put all of its new titles exclusively on its new direct to consumer platform Disney+.
Both the English and Spanish versions of Incredibles 2 are currently set to leave Netflix on 30th July 2020. This is inclusive of Netflix USA and Netflix Canada.
Where will Incredibles 2 be streaming after it leaves Netflix?
Obviously it will join the majority of Pixar movies on Disney+. Currently, the case is that most Disney titles hit Disney+ on or the day after it leaves Netflix. Also, it’s going to be a busy month of removals for Netflix. Three movies from the Disney titles hit Disney+ on or the day after it leaves Netflix.
Following Incredibles 2’s departure from Netflix, only four Disney titles will be remaining on Netflix from the theatrical output deal. Those being Christopher Robin, The Nutcracker, and the Four Realms, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Mary Poppins Returns.
