Last year, Huawei announced a new feature called Wireless Reverse Charging with the Mate 20 Pro. When this feature is triggered, users can charge other QI-enabled devices by just placing them on the top. That said, new reports claim that the upcoming iPhones (possibly the iPhone 11) might include this feature.
According to the recent report, Apple yearned for adding reverse wireless charging on iPhone 11. The feature was seen in the just-launched Samsung Galaxy S10. Samsung named this feature as Wireless PowerShare. As said earlier, this feature was initially launched by Huawei on the Mate 20 Pro. However, the feature isn’t practical considering its slow charging speeds. On the contrary, it can still be handy in situations with no power sources around.
The reverse wireless charging feature is beneficial for charging devices with smaller battery capacities. If this feature makes it to the next iPhone, it could undoubtedly charge the AirPods wireless charging case which was released recently. As the Galaxy S10 supports the function which can be used to charge its wireless Galaxy Buds. Even the Apple Watch can be charged, without the requirement of a charging cable. This technology is in its primary stages and has a prolonged charging rate.
iPhone 11 with USB Type-C?
Along with the new charging feature, Apple is also believed to be releasing the upcoming iPhones with a new charging cable. But, Apple would not substitute the lightning port with Type-C connector. Instead, Apple opts to replace the USB-A port with a Type-C. The report put forward that Apple would be boxing the impending iPhones with a new power brick that will house a USB Type-C port. The new 18W charger might be the same adapter that Apple sells with its MacBook and iPad Pro devices. At present, Apple packs the iPhone with a 5W charger although the devices support 18W fast charging. The 18W fast charger is retailed individually for 2000INR.
