Created and directed by Felipe Cano, with Leonardo Aranguibel and Cecilia Mendonça as producers, It Was Always Me is a Colombian mystery-drama streaming television series. In Spain and Latin America, the series was released on Disney+ on June 15, 2022.

The filming of the series began in March 2021 in Cartagena and Bogotá and ended in May in Península de Barú. In March 2020, it was reported that Disney+ had commissioned the musical thriller series. The series was renewed for a second season.

It Was Always Me Plot and Cast

The plot details for It Was Always Me Season 2 have not been revealed yet. However, it will surely continue from where the first season ended.

The life of journalism student Lupe changes abruptly when she learns that her father, also known as “El Faraón,” has died. In his native Colombia, he is considered a music legend. As a result, Lupe decides to leave her native Mexico to attend her father’s funeral in the Colombian city of Cartagena.

Upon her arrival in Colombia, she meets a mysterious young man named Noah, who turns out to be her late father’s assistant. Lupe decides to stay when she begins to suspect that her father’s death was not an accident after all. She enters a music competition to search her late father’s entourage for more information and clues about his mysterious death. In the process, Lupe must face her greatest fear: singing in public.

Together with Noah, she embarks on a musical adventure full of danger, mystery, intrigue, and romance. But Lupe can’t trust anyone, not even Noah, and there’s a long road ahead before she discovers the truth hidden in the heart of Colombia’s Caribbean region.

Coming to cast, it includes Karol Sevilla as María Guadalupe “Lupe” Díaz Smith, Pipe Bueno as Noah, Christian Tappan as Silvestre “El Faraón” Díaz, José Julián Gaviria as Pipe, and Simón Savi as Charly. We will also get to see Antonio Sanint as Lucas Martin, Adriana Romero as Wendy, Juliana Velásquez as Angie, Dubán Prado as Sammy, Alejandro Gutiérrez as Kevin, and many more.

It Was Always Me Season 2 Release Date

The makers of the series have not announced any released date for It Was Always Me Season 2 yet. We can expect it in the midseason of 2022 or late 2023.

The new season might consist of ten episodes like the first season, although an official confirmation is yet to be announced. The series is produced by The Mediapro Studio for The Walt Disney Company.
