The MLB season is currently on a break due to the coronavirus pandemic. But they are still looking to find ways to thrill baseball fans. The League hosts the “MLB The Show” Players Series. In which 30 players join their respective franchises and participate in a mini-season.
Till Thursday, all of the “MLB The Show” Players League games were shown on MLB’s YouTube channel and MLB Network’s Twitch site. Moving to ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, and MLB Network would allow more men the chance to interact with MLB players.
Tournament Details
MLB The Show Players Season, including its playoff tournament, will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, and MLB from Thursday. ESPN2 will screen selected regular-season matches on Thursdays and Saturdays. Then MLB Network will feature more matches and a one-hour recap series on Sundays.
The competition will see each participant taking part in 29 games. Which ensures that they will face each team on one basis. It will last for about three weeks, and only the top eight players will advance to the postseason round. Each game will be just three innings long, allowing each player to play several games in one day.
The top eight teams will advance to the playoff playoffs, which will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2, and FS1. The quarter-finals will commence on Friday, May 1 at FS1 and consist of the best-of-three match. The semi-finals will take place on Saturday, May 2 at ESPN2 and FS1 Airing the match, which will all be in the best-of-three style.
Each game will be live streaming on MLB’s YouTube, Facebook, along with channels run by MLB Network, Sony’s MLB The Game, and clubs and teams. MLB Network Robert Flores and Heidi Watney will have updates before and after the games.
The title winner will receive a donation of $25,000 to the Boys & Girls Club affiliate in their city. At the beginning of the Players League, MLB, the Players’ Union, and Sony Interactive Entertainment contributed $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs on behalf of each team.
