Nautilus: Release Date, Plot, and more!

Written by James Dormer for Disney+, Nautilus is an upcoming British adventure drama television. It is based on Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, and it will consist of ten episodes.

Dormer is also the executive producer of the show alongside Johanna Devereaux and Chris Loveall. Michael Matthews is directing all the episodes and it is being produced by Moonriver TV and Seven Stories.

Nautilus Plot and Cast

As previously stated, the plot of “Nautilus” will be a retelling of Jules Verne’s novel “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” According to a description of the upcoming series from Variety, it’s set to tell the origin story of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine, The Nautilus, told from his point of view.

An Indian prince robbed of his birthright and family and a prisoner of the East India Company, Nemo is bent on revenge against the forces which have taken everything from him. Once he sets sail with his ragtag crew on board the technologically advanced submarine Nautilus, he battles with his enemy and also discovers a magical underwater world.

The main cast includes Shazad Latif as Captain Nemo, Georgia Flood as Humility Lucas, Thierry Frémont as Gustave Benoit, Pacharo Mzembe as Boniface, Arlo Green as Turan, Tyrone Ngatai as Kai, Ling Cooper Tang as Suyin, Andrew Shaw as Giacomo, Ashan Kumar as Ranbir, Chum Ehelepola as Jagadish, Céline Menville as Loti, Kayden Price as Blaster and Damien Garvey as Director Crawley.

Nautilus Release Date

In August 2021, it was announced that Disney+ had ordered Nautilus, a ten-part television series about the origin of Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus. Filming began in mid-February 2022 at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland. Filming was previously set to begin in December 2021.

So it’s possible we can expect it to be released in 2023 or later. The show is confirmed to have ten episodes and it is entirely dependent on the show’s response if it would get renewed for another season.
