The American crime drama series Ozark has officially been renewed for the fourth and final season, consisting of 14 episodes, split into two parts. It is said that this season will witness the end of the Byrde family’s journey, from suburban Chicago life to their criminal enterprise in the Ozarks, particularly after that season three ends. The thriller series has been created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams for Netflix and produced by Media Rights Capital. Protagonist Jason Bateman has also been the director and executive producer of Ozark. There hasn’t been any official announcement of the release date of the new season and it is anticipated that it might get pushed to next year, owing to the pandemic.
The official description of Ozark on Netflix goes like this, “A financial adviser drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss.” Season 4 is said to start its filming in the month of November this year if the situation permits. Many fans of Netflix’s crime drama series are curious to know how the show will be closing the curtains on the Byrdes and whether the death of Ben Davis will come back to haunt Marty and Wendy Byrde. The last season beholder the assassination planned by Wendy for her younger brother and gave hitman Nelson the order. Things got pretty messed up last time.

The series has received 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations including two for Outstanding Drama Series, with Bateman winning for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and Julia Garner for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, both in 2019. Bateman has received two further Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor – Television Series Drama. This year too the series got nominated for the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and Casting Society of America. Ozark stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Julia Garner, Jordana Spiro, Jason Butler Harner, Esai Morales, Peter Mullan, Lisa Emery, Charlie Tahan, Janet McTeer, Tom Pelphrey, and Jessica Frances Dukes.
