Xiaomi launched the Poco F1 last year which was a huge success due to its flagship features and aggressive pricing. The fans have been waiting for the company to launch the successor with upgraded features. Now, the Poco F2 has appeared on benchmarking website GeekBench giving an insight on some of its specs.
The Xiaomi Poco F2 was clearly listed on the website and was uploaded on March 16. The smartphone managed to score 1776 and 6097 points on the single and multi-core test respectively. It’s a bit of a disappointment since both of the single and multi-core test scores of the Poco F2 are significantly less compared to the Poco F1. The Poco F1 scored 2451 and 8998 points on the single and multi-core test respectively.
The Poco F2 is listed to be powered by the ‘msmnile’ SoC which is the codename of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The benchmarked device has only 4GB RAM hinting that this might be a lite variant of the smartphone. The predecessor was offered with a 6GB variant, so the feasibility of this being a lite variant is quite high. It runs on the Android Q, the successor to last year’s Android 9 Pie.
There is not much information about the specs of the Poco F2. However, the upcoming handset may feature a triple camera setup and an under display fingerprint sensor. These features have already appeared on mid-range phones like the Samsung M30 and OPPO K1. There might also be a 48MP camera sensor as Xiaomi has already included it on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
As for the launch date, Xiaomi is yet to announce or hinted about the launch date. However, looking at the company’s annual update cycle, the Poco F2 is expected to hit the markets on the second half of 2019 competing against the likes of OnePlus 7.
