We’ve always loved Carey Mulligan, whether in her role as Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, as Kitty Bennett in Pride and Prejudice and as Ryan Gosling’s married love interest Irene in Drive. This current role puts her in a more challenging role, a mysterious woman with a past and unpredictable ways.
Promising Young Woman is an upcoming American black comedy thriller film. Emerald Fennell directed the film as well as wrote the screenplay while Ben Browning, Emerald Fennell, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Ashley Fox produced the film. The production companies for the film are FilmNation Entertainment and LuckyChap Entertainment.
Interestingly, LuckyChap Entertainment is a production company founded by Margot Robbie, her husband Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr. They produced I, Tonya as well as Birds of Prey, both of which featured Robbie in the lead role.

Cassandra “Cassie” Thomas was hailed a promising young woman by everyone around her. Dedicated and smart, she seemed to have it all in her hands, until one sudden and mysterious event that changes everything.
However, Cassie wasn’t what people thought she was. She is not just determined and smart, she is also cunning and willing to save her future by any means. Plus, her personality seems to have more than she is willing to let on at first sight, evident by the double life that she leads at night. Let us see if she can put her future back on track.
Carey Mulligan plays Cassandra Thomas while Bo Burnham plays Ryan. Alison Brie plays Madison, while Jennifer Coolidge plays Susan and Clancy Brown plays Stanley Thomas. Laverne Cox plays Gail while Adam Brody plays Jez and Max Greenfield plays Joe.
