One of the highest-paid actresses Scarlett Johansson opened up recently to Parade, a magazine about her getting rejected initially and losing out the role of Black Widow to Emily Blunt.
‘A Quiet Place’ actress Emily was Jon Favreau, the director’s first choice for Black Widow/ Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2. Due to scheduling issues with Gulliver’s Travels, Emily left Iron Man and Jon turned to his second choice Scarlett. Today, we cannot imagine any other actress playing Black Widow.
The Lost In Translation actress, Scarlett recalls her initial rejection. At that time, she told Jon, “ If this doesn’t work out, I am an actor for hire, so call me anytime.” And as soon as the call arrived, her joy knew no bounds. “The best call you can receive is after you get rejected for something and then you get it; you appreciate it more. I have made a career out of being the second choice”, she describes her joy.
However, she had an apprehension at the beginning about how fans would accept her as Black Widow. Now she is one of the inevitable avengers of the MCU.
BLACK WIDOW- A STANDALONE
MCU took a long period before commencing the standalone film Black Widow starring Scarlett which was earlier said to be released on April 30, this year but was put off due to the current pandemic. The expected date of release is November 6, 2020. It is worth mentioning that Black Widow faced the biggest box office hurdle.

What is the storyline?
This film speaks about Natasha going back to her origins and her tangling with the villainous Taskmaster. This movie will be set in the period before Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
Johansson is excited about her upcoming movie, “ It is a film, very much about self-forgiveness ad accepting decisions that were made for you. It is much deeper than anything we could have done earlier.”
Lovely and gorgeous Scarlett has been nominated for Oscars 2019 for Marriage story and Jojo Rabbit.
