Schooled is a sitcom television series created by Adam F. Goldberg and Marc Firek, for ABC. The series is a direct spin-off to The Goldbergs, and stars Tim Meadows, AJ Michalka, Bryan Callen, Brett Dier, and Haneefah Wood in the main cast. The supporting cast includes Lennon Parham, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ana Gasteyer, Clancy Brown, Alphonso McAuley, and Greg Proops. The concept for Schooled aired as a backdoor pilot on the January 24, 2018 episode of The Goldbergs, called “The Goldbergs: 1990-Something”. Schooled premiered on on January 9, 2019, and had thirteen episodes in the first season; the first season ending on May 8, 2019.

“Schooled, set in 1990-something, follows the hilarious faculty of William Penn Academy, led by new music teacher and WP graduate Lainey Lewis (AJ Michalka), Principal Glascott (Tim Meadows), Coach Mellor (Bryan Callen) and young, enthusiastic super-teacher Charlie Brown, or CB for short (Brett Dier). Despite their eccentricities and crazy personal lives, these teachers are heroes to their students.”

Schooled Season 2 Ratings
The second season of Schooled premiered on September 25, 2019, as a full 21-episode season. The season ended on May 13, 2020. Season 2 of Schooled had an average demo rating of 0.69 in the 18-49 demographic. The average viewership for the second season of Schooled was 3.15 million viewers. These numbers, compared to season 1, are down by a percentage of 29% and 20%, respectively, with the first season being ABC’s second-highest rated sitcom of the 2018-19 season.
In comparison to other shows on ABC, season 2 of Schooled stood at number 8 in terms of demo ratings, and at number 11 in terms of viewership averages, on ABC’s list of scripted shows for 2019-20.

Schooled Season 3 – Is it happening or not?
Unfortunately, despite the fairly positive numbers and good reviews as well, Schooled will not be returning for a third season. On May 21, 2020, ABC cancelled the series after just two seasons on the network.
