Scream 5: Release Date, Trailer, Casts, and More!

Scream (also informally known as Scream 5) is an upcoming American slasher film and it serves as the fifth installment of the Scream film series.  While Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed the movie, James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick wrote the story of it. Although the film is produced by Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak, the original screenwriter Kevin Williamson serves as an executive producer. Spyglass Media Group, Radio Silence Productions, Project X Entertainment, and Outerbanks Entertainment, produced the Scream. And it was distributed by Paramount Pictures. In the wake of Casey and Steve’s brutal murders, the police question Sidney and the rest of the high school students.

Though billed as a relaunch of the franchise, the film is a direct sequel to 2011’s Scream 4. Also, it is the first in the series not to be directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015.
After a series of mysterious deaths befalls their small town, an offbeat group of friends led by Sidney Prescott become the target of a masked killer. As the body count begins to rise, Sidney and her friends find themselves contemplating the “Rules” of horror films as they find themselves living in a real-life one.

David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and Roger L. Jackson return to reprise their original roles, while Marley Shelton also reprises her role from the previous film. Also, they are joined by franchise newcomers Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid.

Other than them, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Dylan Minnette as Wes Hicks, and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin are in the movie. Also, Kyle Gallner as Vince Schneider, Sonia Ben Ammar as Liv McKenzie, Mikey Madison as Amber Freeman, and Roger L. Jackson as the voice of Ghostface will emerge.

The filming of this movie took place in Wilmington, North Carolina, from September to November 2020. Now, the film will release on January 14, 2022.
