Star Trek: Discovery Season 5: Release Date, Trailer, and more!

Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, Star Trek: Discovery is an American television series. Premiered on September 24, 2017, it is the seventh Star Trek series and the first since Star Trek: Enterprise concluded in 2005.

The series is a genre of science fiction, adventure, and drama produced for CBS All Access but later rebranded as Paramount+ and ran for 5 seasons on the streaming platform. The fourth season was released on November 18, 2021, and the series was renewed for a fifth season which is scheduled to release soon.

Star Trek: Discovery Plot and Cast

Michael Burnham has saved the galaxy once a season so far, so who knows what the writers will do to up the ante for Star Trek: Discovery Season 5. After the fourth season, the Federation has grown stronger with Ni’Var (Vulcan) and Earth rejoining. With Tellar Prime never leaving the Federation, the fate of only one of the union’s founding members is in doubt, Andoria.

Perhaps season five will have lower stakes and center around the Discovery and her crew reconnecting with more former Federation members (and possibly becoming friends with former foes).

Star Trek: Discovery’s entire cast is expected to return for season 5, including Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Wilson Cruz, Blu del Barrio, and David Ajala. Mary Wiseman’s Lt. Sylvia Tilly left Discovery to teach at Starfleet Academy but she should be back as well, and it’s also safe to expect Chelah Horsdal’s President Rillak, Oded Fehr’s Admiral Charles Vance, Tara Rosling’s President T’Rina, and Ian Alexander’s Gray Tal will return.

Discovery has a huge cast and potentially, even characters who are presumed deceased like Shawn Doyle’s Dr. Tarka may make a comeback in Star Trek: Discovery season 5.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Release Date

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 was in its scripting and preparation stage a few months ago. It was immediately renewed for a fifth season after the first four seasons received a positive response.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5’s production could probably run throughout the rest of 2022. The fifth season is expected to come out in the beginning of 2024.
