Debuted on March 25, 2002, on ABC, The Bachelor is an American dating and relationship reality television series. For its first 25 seasons, the show was hosted by Chris Harrison. Although it received a decent response from the audience, it has also been criticized for its lack of ethnic and cultural diversity, eventually prompting petitions and threats of boycott from a lead, Rachel Lindsay.

On September 28, 2021, the series was renewed for a twenty-sixth season with season five bachelor Jesse Palmer returning to the Bachelor franchise, this time as host. However, the makers have already renewed the series for a 27th season.

The Bachelor Format and Cast

The makers have not announced any changes related to the format of The Bachelor. The series revolves around a single bachelor who begins with a pool of romantic interests from whom he is expected to select a wife.

During the season, the bachelor eliminates candidates each week eventually culminating in a marriage proposal to his final selection. The participants travel to romantic and exotic locations for their dates, and the conflicts in the series, both internal and external, stem from the elimination-style format of the show.

The series has been presented by Chris Harrison, Emmanuel Acho, and Jesse Palmer all these years. The previous season was hosted by Palmer and he is expected to return in the new season as the host. However, an official confirmation is awaited on the same alongside the contestants participating in the show.

The Bachelor Season 28 Release Date

The latest season of The Bachelor premiered on January 23, 2023, ended on March 27, 2023, and was renewed for a 28th season on May 16, 2023. Considering that, Season 28 should premiere sometime in 2024.

The previous season had 11 episodes in total and we can expect the same in the upcoming season. The show is distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution and produced by NZK Productions Inc. since Season 14.
