The teens are in the same place where once their town existed but now the place is part of a forest. Baffled by the chain of events before them, the teens must learn to survive. In order to survive the teens form groups and alliances for control of scarce resources. The naive teens must behave maturely if they are to survive. The groups fight for control of resources. It is later revealed that the teens are in some sort of parallel universe. In the last episode of the first season, they find a plaque where the teens find their names mentioned as lost.
