Tokyo Vice Season 1: Release Date, Plot and more!

Streaming service HBO Max is bringing a brand-new crime drama miniseries Tokyo Vice. Created by J.T. Rogers, the show is based on the 2009 book of the same name by Jake Adelstein.

The new series is set to premiere on April 7, 2022. All the episodes will not be released on the same day. The first three will premiere on the first day, followed by two on March 14 and next two on March 21. The final episode will air on March 28.

Tokyo Vice: Plot and Cast

Tokyo Vice is a riveting and humorous tale of Jake Adelstein and his journey from an inexperienced cub reporter to a daring and investigative journalist with a price in his head.

The miniseries is based on Jake Adelstein’s 2009 memoir, Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan.

The main cast includes Ansel Elgort as Jake Adelstein, Ken Watanabe as Hiroto Katagiri, Rachel Keller as Samantha, Ella Rumpf as Polima, Rinko Kikuchi as Adelstein’s supervisor and others.

We will also get to see Shun Sugata, Masato Hagiwara, Ayumi Tanida and Kosuke Toyohara in recurring roles.

Tokyo Vice Release Date

The makers of the show officially announced that Tokyo Vice will be released on March 7, 2022. It will consist of 8 episodes.

The series will be available for streaming on HBO Max. Since 2021, HBO and HBO Max have had around 69.4 million paying subscribers including 43.5 million in U.S. and 20.5 million in other countries.
