Developed by Sue Tenney, Virgin River is an American romantic drama streaming television series. It is based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. The executive producers of the show are Robyn Carr, Christopher E. Perry, Sue Tenney, Roma Roth, and Jocelyn Freid.

The first season premiered on Netflix on December 6, 2019. In September 2021, the series was renewed for the fourth and fifth seasons. The fourth season was released on July 20, 2022.

Virgin River Plot and Cast

The makers of Virgin River have not revealed a lot of details about the plot of Season 5. It is expected to continue from Season 4 will end and for now, it is hard to predict what might happen in Season 5 since Season 4 is premiering next month. Everything will be dependent on the ending of Season 4.

The basic premise follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make the Virgin River her home.

Talking about the cast, the leads of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Jenny Cooper, Lauren Hammersley, Annette O’Toole, Tim Matheson, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Grayson Gurnsey, and Sarah Dugdale.

Virgin River Season 5 Release Date

The latest season of Virgin River would premiere in June 2022. Considering that, the fifth season should premiere sometime in 2023, although an official confirmation is still awaited.

The new season is expected to have ten episodes like the previous seasons and further details are still awaited. The series is produced by Reel World Management.
