Created by Karin Slaughter, Daniel T. Thomsen, and Liz Heldens, Will Trent is an American police procedural crime drama television series that is based on Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent series of novels. the series debuted on ABC on January 3, 2023.
Heldens and Slaughter are also the executive producers of the series along with Paul McGuigan, Oliver Obst, and Ramon Rodriguez. In April 2023, the developers renewed the show for a second season which will be released soon.

Will Trent Season 2 Plot and Cast
The main plot for Will Trent Season 2 is not shared yet since it is confirmed that the plot for the new season will continue from where the first season ended. Will Trent was discovered as an abandoned child who grew up under a foster care system in Atlanta. This left a bad impact on him and although he was a dyslexic, he managed to join the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent. He started to solve a lot of cases for the agency but he was later told to solve a corruption case which also involved the Atlanta Police Department.
A lot of the police officers were arrested but his GBI boss Amanda Wagner brought in Faith Mitchell, the daughter of one of the arrested officers. He has shared an on-and-off relationship with one of his childhood friends who was also with him in the foster care system. His name is Angie Polaski who is an APD Homicide Detective and collaborates with Detective Michael Ormewood. This leads to a lot of contact between all the characters who are involved in the case.
Now coming to the cast, includes Ramón Rodríguez, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin, and Sonja Sohn as the key cast of the show. The makers also featured Jennifer Morrison, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Greg Germann, LisaGay Hamilton, and Cora Lu Tran as the recurring cast of the show.
Will Trent Season 2 Release Date
On April 18, 2023, ABC renewed Will Trent for a second season but has not confirmed the exact release date. Since the series was renewed recently it is not possible to predict a release date for it. However, as per sources, the show is going to release on February 20, 2024.
