What is this about?

The events of September 11, 2001, will be chronicled in this docuseries through dramatic first-person accounts from first responders and survivors. The first trailer should prepare viewers for first-hand accounts of what they’ll be seeing; it’s not just hearing people’s screams and shouts on the ground or inside the structure, but it’s also viewing rubble fall from inside the Trade Center itself at points.

Each episode will focus on the various levels of heroism people displayed throughout the incident and will include never-before-seen footage from apartments and streets shortly after the aircraft was impacted. The documentary filmmakers interviewed 54 people in person for a total of 235 hours of footage over the course of three years.

The first FDNY chief to arrive at the World Trade Center on September 11th, a firefighter who escaped the North Tower just before it collapsed, paramedics first on the scene who recall their heartbreaking encounters searching for life in the rubble, and bystanders who share their rescue stories after being trapped inside the towers under mountains of concrete are among the subjects discussed.

The series is seven hours long, with the first episode being a feature-length film. The first episode debuted as an official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11th. AFI DOCS and Sheffield International Documentary Festival have both chosen the series as an official selection.
