Anthology series has a special place for themselves on Netflix. One such popular show is Black Mirror. The show saw five seasons already and fans eagerly wait for season 6. Black Mirror takes up themes and concepts from The Twilight Zone, incorporating them in the 21st century. Status of Black Mirror Season 6

As of now, there is no official confirmation about the renewal of Black Mirror. The creator is silent about it. Charlie Brooker, in an interview with Radio Times, said, “At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.” The phrase ‘comic skillset’ also triggers disappointment. Since Brooker also does many other British comedy shows, fans speculate that he might return to creating such shows and forget about Black Mirror next season. He is famous for The 11 o’clock show, Brass Eye, and Nathan Barley.

When can we watch Black Mirror Season 6?

In December 2011, Black Mirror reflected humanity for the first time. It had three episodes only but they were really good. Then in October 2016, season 3 released. But Netflix raised the number of episodes to six. The episodes did not match the previous classic ones. Later in December 2017, season 4 hit the platform. Then came the true surprise. ‘Bandersnatch’ is an adventurous film as part of the Black Mirror. Fans loved the movie. Then in 2019, in June, the fifth season uncovered itself. We are going to celebrate one year of its release, still, we do not hear any update on the new season.

But one thing is clear. We may not receive information about the renewal, but the renewal of the show for the sixth season is to happen for sure considering its popularity and earnings. We can expect to watch the series by fall or Christmas period, this year or 2021.

What about the cast of Black Mirror Season 6?

As Black Mirror is an anthology series, cast differs from episode to episode. Season 5 had Andrew Scott, Topher Grace, Anthony Mackie, and Miley Cyrus. Season 6 keeps its door wide open for new faces. We can also have Hannah John-Kamen, Daniel Lapaine, and Michaela Coel.

Over the years, Black Mirror obtained a huge fan base. British science fiction is well-known for its storytelling. In total, we have 22 episodes. Season 6 can have more number of episodes than its previous parts. Also, it follows the storyline: Human interaction with his massive creation- technology and its grave consequences. But season 6 will be independent of the previous seasons in its plot.

Remember Bandersnatch? The “choose your own adventure” type film was a huge hit. We don’t know if such films will be rolled out in the future. Fionn Whitehead and Will Poulter formed the cast of the film. With the fate of Black Mirror Season 6, terrible, we can’t expect to have many films as part of the anthology.
