Space Jam 2- Release Date, Cast and more Details!
The first Space Jam film came out in 1996 and was an instant hit among the people. An animated sports comedy film, Space Jam had all the elements to get the attention of both kids and adults alike. NBA legend Michael Jordan, helping out characters from the Looney Tunes to win an intergalactic basketball game against aliens; that was something unique and worked out pretty well.
To the delight of both basketball fans and fans of the movie, Warner Bros. announced a sequel in 2014. The sequel will be starring a different basketball player, and it is LeBron James. Malcolm D. Lee will be directing the sequel. It will be produced by Ryan Coogler and LeBron James.
The cast of Space Jam 2
Michael Jordan was the basketball star in Space Jam when characters from the Looney Tunes needed his help in defeating the aliens in an intergalactic basketball game. This time, in Space Jam: A New Legacy (Space Jam 2), it will be LeBron James. Don Cheadle has been cast as an unknown villain in the film. Sonequa Martin-Green will play the role of LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James and Ceyair J. Wright will play the role of James’ oldest son, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr.
Additionally, some famous NBA and WNBA stars will also be making cameo appearances in the film. These include Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Kyle Kuzma from the NBA. From the WNBA, it will be Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chiney Ogwumike.
In voice acting, Eric Bauza will be the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian. Kath Soucie, who voiced Lola Bunny in Space Jam, will return for the same in Space Jam 2.
Release Date of Space Jam 2
The release date for Space Jam 2 was announced in February 2019. In April 2020, LeBron James revealed the title of the film, Space Jam: A New Legacy. Space Jam: A New Legacy will be releasing on July 16, 2021.
