Is Black Widow Going To Be Delayed?

Published

on

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of theatrical delays lately, and the most recent one seems to be Marvel’s Black Widow. The movie was supposed to be released in November; however, it is likely that Disney will delay its release to a later date. This is probably due to the failure of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet to make more than $30 million during its first couple of weeks. When can we expect the movie to come out? Keep reading to find out!

Black Widow: Plot and Cast

The movie features Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff or the Black Widow. The movie is based on the events that take place after Captain America: Civil War. Romanoff finds herself alone after the War between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, better known as Captain America and Iron Man respectively. She finds herself confronted by her past and fights forces that are determined to destroy her.

Natasha Romanoff used to be a KGB assassin, which is a part of her past that still haunts her. She was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. before she came an Avenger. Even though she has become independent after her spy days and makes her own choices now, she has to deal with the aftermath of her past. Her independence also makes her incredibly lonely, which is something she struggles to deal with.

Other cast members include Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena Borova. Yelena is Romanoff’s sister and is trained as a Black Widow. She is expected to the next superhero once Johansson passes on the baton. David Harbour plays the Red Guardian and William Hurt plays Thaddeus Ross.

Black Widow: Release Date and Trailer

The movie is still scheduled to be released on November 6, 2020. However, Disney and Marvel have already delayed a number of films such as Wonder Woman 1984 due to the poor response in theatres. Hence, it is likely that this long-awaited film will be delayed to December or even further.
