American Soul is an American musical drama television series. Jonathan Prince and Devon Greggory created this series. The show premiered on February 5, 2019, on BET.  The show portrays the story of Don Cornelius and the creation of his legendary music and dance program Soul Train. Sinqua Walls, Jason Dirden, Iantha Richardson, Christopher Jefferson, Katlyn Nichol, Jelani Winston, and Kelly Price are some of the cast members for this show.

The series received good feedback from the public. This show has a rating of 7.5/10 on IMDb and 95% likes on Google. The audience stated that this show made them reminisce their childhood. The show is a well written and produced biographical story about Don Cornelius.

WHAT IS AMERICAN SOUL ABOUT?

According to Wikipedia, “American Soul tells the story of Don Cornelius, “his Soul Train dancers, crew and musicians in a cutthroat Hollywood in the 1970s and how they worked, played, rose and fell against the backdrop of the show that was most responsible for the way African-American culture was perceived by the world then.”

The first season takes place between the first two seasons of Soul Train between 1971 and 1973. The second season jumps ahead two years later in 1975.”

In this show, we can see Sinqua Walls as Don Cornelius and  Jason Dirden as Gerald Aims. Christopher Jefferson portrays the role of  Jeffrey “JT” Tucker whereas Iantha Richardson portrays Tessa Lorraine. Kelly Price acts as Brianne Clarke, Katlyn Nichol as Simone Clarke and India McGee as Flo.

AMERICAN SOUL SEASON 3 RELEASE DATE?

The show has not yet been renewed for a third season but that’s not a reason to panic. This show did extremely well in terms of viewership and there is no reason as to why it shouldn’t come back for another season. Once BET gives a green signal for the production of this show, we can see it by the end of 2021.
