Nancy Drew Season 2: Synopsis, Cast and Trivia!

Nancy Drew is a fictional character, a sleuth in an American mystery series created by publisher Edward Stratemeyer as the female counterpart to his Hardy Boys series. The character first appeared in 1930.

The series is narrated and led by the sleuth Nancy Drew, played by Kennedy McMann, and features an ensemble cast with re-imagined versions of the characters from the books: Leah Lewis as George Fan, Maddison Jaizani as Bess Marvin, Tunji Kasim as Ned Nickerson and Scott Wolf as Carson Drew. It also stars Alex Saxon, Alvina August and Riley Smith as new characters invented for the series.

Synopsis: Putting her college plans on hold,  Nancy Drew who is 18-year-old finds herself involved in a supernatural mystery when she along with her four friends are witnesses and also suspects to murder and they all team up to find the culprit.

According to Kennedy McMann, she approached the role with quite an apprehension. She told to correspondent Faith Salie: “It was very nerve-wracking,”. “I just have to trust whatever my instincts are. Because I know who this character is for myself because I’ve grown up with her.”

She went on to say: “There’s something about the mystery and a really all-consuming story that a) is a really nice escape for people and is just pure entertainment, and that is a beautiful, wonderful, important thing especially in times when things are rocky in society for whatever reason.”

HBO Max and CBS All Access acquired the streaming rights to the series in the United States, with seasons available on their platforms several days after the season finale airs.
