Sally wowed audiences in 2019 when she starred in the thriller Cold Call. So, it’s more suitable than ever that she’ll play the lead in this film, which has a raw and gritty character that’s a far cry from Sally’s humorous performances, such as in Still Open All Hours. Please note that the series used to be known as The Reluctant Madame Blanc.

What is this about?

Jean first appears on a wet Manchester morning, filled with grief as she learns that Rory has died unexpectedly on his way home from their vintage treasure-trove hideaway in the South of France.

Jean is heartbroken when she discovers that all of their money has vanished, their shop has been re-mortgaged to the hilt, and their belongings have been pawned.

Jean’s life is turned upside down when the last few thousand dollars in their joint account are spent on Rory’s funeral. Until her attorney informs her that her husband did not sell their cottage in Saint Victoire, France’s antiques capital.

When Jean discovers that the costly ring Rory was supposed to return to her has vanished, she realizes something is awry and flees to Saint Victoire. Will she be able to find the answers she seeks?

Cast and Characters

Jean White is played by Sally Lindsay, and Gloria, Jean’s best friend, is played by Sue Vincent. Judith is played by Sue Holderness, and Jeremy is played by Robin Askwith. Steve Edge, Sue Vincent, Sue Holderness, and Robin Askwith are among the cast members of the six-episode series.

Creator and Lead Writer Sally Lindsay said: “I’ve always been fascinated by the worlds of antiques and Agatha Christie, so putting the two together and creating the world of St.Victoire with Sue has been an absolute joy.”
