Netflix’s science fiction horror drama Stranger Things has opened to highly positive reviews from audiences and critics. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the first season of the show premiered on July 15, 2016.

The show attracted a record viewership on Netflix and has a huge international fanbase. The series has been a recipient of several awards and nominations including 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Following the premiere of the third season, it was renewed for a fourth season.

Stranger Things Season 4: Release Date and Plot

Although an exact date has not been announced, Stranger Things Season 4 is scheduled to release sometime in mid-2022. The Duffer Brothers have said that the series is likely to end after the fourth or fifth season.

However, the plot details have not been revealed until now. Considering that the third season ended on a cliffhanger, there are a lot of things that would be disclosed in the upcoming season.

The fourth season will take place in 1986 around the time of spring break. According to the Duffer Brothers,

“We’re excited to officially announce that production for Stranger Things 4 is now underway – and even more excited to announce the return of Hooper! Although it’s not all good news for our “American”; [Hopper] is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”

Stranger Things Season 4 will see the return of the old cast members including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalie Dyer, Charlie Heaton and others.
