Based on The New York Times best-selling series “All Souls Trilogy” by Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches, named after the first book of the trilogy, is a British fantasy television series starring Teresa Palmer, Matthew Goode, Edward Bluemel, Louise Brealey, Malin Buska, Aiysha Hart, Owen Teale, Alex Kingston, and Valarie Pettiford.
The show is produced by Bad Wolf and Sky Productions and its eight-episode first season of the series premiered on 14, September 2018 onwards on Sky One.
Brilliant historian, Diana Bishop(Teresa Palmer), is a witch, denying her own heritage. But when she unexpectedly calls up an ancient, bewitched manuscript, from Oxford’s Bodleian library, one that was thought by the creatures to be lost; could answer the mysteries of their existence. Diana finds herself thrown into the heart of a dangerous mystery, into the path of an enigmatic geneticist, and vampire-Matthew Clairemont(Matthew Goode).

Matthew and Diana are hiding in time in the fascinating and treacherous world of Elizabethan London. Meanwhile, back in the present day, Diana’s beloved aunts, Sarah and Em must take shelter with notorious witch-hunter Ysabeau de Clermont at her ancestral home, Sept-Tours.
