The Amazon Prime Video service is finally releasing another version of the lauded Jack Reacher series! If you didn’t know yet, the series is a famous collection of novels by British author Lee Child. It has been adapted into a famous movie franchise, featuring Tom Cruise. Yes, that man who performs all his stunts on his own. Will the new adaptation be worth watching? When does it come out? Read more to find out!
Jack Reacher: Plot and Cast
Jack Reacher is a fictional character by Lee Child who used to be a major in the US Army. After leaving the army, he takes various jobs around the country and investigates suspicious and dangerous situations. He has so far, appeared in 24 novels written by Lee Child. The character is based on Child himself, to a large extent. They both have a huge build, wear cheap clothes and consume a lot of coffee.
Luckily, Alan Ritchson fits the bill. And better than Tom Cruise, for that matter. Sorry to all the Tom Cruise fans, but just look at the guy. Alan stands at 6’4” and 235 pounds, which sounds more like the bulky Jack Reacher rather than Cruise’s lanky, more intellectual vibe.
Alan Ritchson has a number of roles to claim his fame. He has previously played Gloss in The Hunger Games franchise. He played Raphael in The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. On top of that, he also had a cameo in New Girl! Talk about being everywhere!
The first season of the series is based on the first novel, The Killing Floor. This season will involve him getting falsely arrested for his brother’s murder and finding out the actual killers behind the murder.
Jack Reacher Season 1: Release Date
While the show producers haven’t talked about release or filming just yet, we are definitely excited. Since the Jack Ryan trio are recreating this series, we expect only good things. Let the long (hopefully not too long) wait commence!
