Pretty Little Liars is finally getting a reboot! Take a few seconds (or minutes, because PLL!) to breathe. Are you calm yet? Well, here’s the good news. The Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is the one responsible for bringing the Rosewood glamour back! For those who still don’t know what PLL is (the horror!), it is an American mystery thriller series about four girls who are threatened by the mysterious ‘A’. Excited yet? Pretty Little Liars: Plot and Cast

The show is set in a small town named Rosewood in Pennsylvania. It tells the story of four high school girls who face themselves in a terrible situation after their clique leader disappears. Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin and Emily Fields are threatened by ‘A’, who later turns into ‘A.D.’.

At first, they think it is their missing leader, Alison DiLaurentis. However, they soon find Alison’s dead body and realise it has to be someone else. The mysterious person wishes to disclose all the lies and rumours they spread about Alison when she went missing. Thus, it is clear that ‘A’ wants revenge.

Troian Bellisario plays Spencer Hastings, an overachiever and perfectionist. She pretends to be kind towards everyone, but becomes competitive and takes down people for her own gain. Ashley Benson plays Hanna Marin, who used to be overweight before the start of the story. She has the nickname ‘Hefty Hanna’ and ends up becoming the most popular girl in school.

Lucy Hale plays Aria Montgomery, an intelligent and artsy young woman. Finally, Shay Mitchell plays Emily Fields, a sporty girl who is gay, but doesn’t come out until the end of season 1.

Pretty Little Liars Reboot: Release Date and Teaser

The show runners have no release date in sight yet, sadly due to the pandemic. We do hope they will start the filming process soon. It is unlikely that any of the original cast members will be a part of it. But wipe your tears and hope for happy things! A reboot! Yay!
