Developed by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, Chicago Med is an American medical drama television series. The series premiered on NBC on November 17, 2015, and it follows the emergency department (ED) doctors and nurses of the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

The series was renewed together for a sixth, seventh, and eighth season by NBC on February 27, 2020. The sixth season premiered on November 11, 2020, followed by the seventh season on September 22, 2021, and the eighth Season on September 21, 2022.

Chicago Med Plot and Cast

The season is expected to pick up from the finale episode of the seventh season, And Now We Come to the End, released on May 25, 2022. The episode was directed by Nicole Rubio.

The teleplay is written by Diane Frolov & Andrew Schneider & Meridith Friedman. The story of the episode is created by Meridith Friedman & Lily Dahl. It was estimated that the episode was viewed by 6.43 million US viewers. So, it is expected that this already established premise will lead to the pilot episode of Season 8 of Chicago Med.

The original cast members from Season 8 are expected to reprise their roles and continue the story in the next chapter. The list of the prominent characters of the series is as follows – Brian Tee as Dr. Ethan Choi, Marlyne Barrett as Maggie Campbell, Nick Gehlfuss as Dr. Will Halstead, Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles, and S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin.
