Dead to Me just got over with it’s season 2 and fans went crazy about the cliffhanger. The show went to extents, digging up old mysteries as well as new ones, confusing the audience even more. It got a dark shadow hovering over it, and was supposed to be a lot darker. But is heard that the finale aired is much different from the finale initially planned.
The second season gave a huge rollercoaster ride and an adrenaline rush. In the last season, Jen and Judy had an anger clash upon discovering about the death of Jen’s husband. But they reconcile in the latter part. Steve, Judy’s ex, was killed by Jen, which was believed that he disappeared after a fraud money case. But the major shock came when Steve’s twin brother Ben appears out of nowhere and complicates the situation even more. Jen and Judy finally thought they were in the clear by the end of the season 2 finale. They no longer had to live in complete paranoia, believing that the past was behind them. But as fate had it, Ben eventually discovered about the death of his brother and goes on to escape the situation, but faces a car crash with the women.
Executive producer Liz Feldman said that Jen’s fate was actually unpredictable and her survival was still a mystery. This would have led to more drama and suspense, but her survival was confirmed with her last utterance. The producer felt that the original script would have been too much for the characters and for the fans as well, since huge sufferings had been endured till then. Jen is a prominent face on the show and killing off the character would have been unjustified. But yet with the change, the ending was satisfied and paves way to the third season.
