IGN postpones its Summer of Gaming Event

Even the actual world can be a scary environment. Although one may sometimes look to games as a means of fun and escape, certain issues are just too large to overlook. Following recent affairs in the United States. A variety of businesses, entrepreneurs, and media outlets have expressed concern for the black community. The latest to support the campaign is IGN.

Summer of Gaming Delayed

IGN has confirmed that the Summer of Gaming 2020 activities have been delayed from their original launch date of 4 June until 8 June. IGN stated sympathy with the Black community during the ongoing international war as a justification for the postponement.

IGN’s pause in its Summer of Gaming 2020 activities will be followed by CD Projekt RED and Sony. All of which have postponed their respective Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer demonstration and PlayStation 5 title list, to demonstrate solidarity with the Black community amid the current activities.

The Summer of Gaming 2020 show is supposed to be pretty shindig too, with all the latest game updates, the PlayStation 5 software unveilings, reviews. Several major industry hits may also show their products in a month-long series of activities. Like industry people including 2 K, SEGA, EA, Ubisoft, and many others.

In a post on Twitter, IGN urges readers and guests to contribute to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. It is an agency that “promotes legal action and long-term improvement”. Humble Bundle, the sister company of IGN, has set up a $1 million fund to support Black players produce games.
