Ryan Lochte is a famous American swimmer who has won more Olympic medals than any other American swimmer, except Michael Phelps. He made the world record in 200 meter individual medley and a team record of 4×200 meter freestyle relay, both of which are unbroken. Ryan Lochte has also appeared on Saturday Night Live and Dancing With The Stars, as well as Celebrity Big Brother.

He was a part of a scandal in 2016 with three other athletes, Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger. The scandal is commonly known as Lochtegate, after the main protagonist of the scandal, Ryan Lochte. This incident involved Lochte bribing security guards after peeing and vandalizing a framed poster.

Lochte and the other three swimmers first reported being robbed, but later it was realized that they had bribed the guards. They were also intoxicated. The swimmers were all suspended and had to pay many fines to get their passports back.

Lochte lost everything in his life. He had to move to a smaller apartment and live paycheck to paycheck for a while.
